Our Foundation is raising
charitable donations which will be
distributed to the
families or injured children or
caretakers of those children who
lost their parents. We are a
grassroots project run by a group of
volunteers, and we are the only such
foundation outside Russia.
The Foundation is the only US
charity committed specifically to
helping children victims of the
Beslan tragedy. It incurs no
administrative expenses related
to personal donations, all of which
are delivered directly to victims’
families.
The Foundation has a proven track
record helping terror victims in
Russia, with local presence
in Beslan established within days
after the terror act.
The Foundation is a US 501(c)(3) public charity and is managed by a
group of
volunteer activists in
full accordance with applicable US charity laws. All
donations are fully
tax-deductible.

The International Foundation for
Terror Act Victims was originally established in 2002 to raise personal
and corporate
charitable donations to help the families
of the
Nord-Ost Theater Siege terror victims. That project was
successfully completed in 2003 with all donations fully
distributed.
The current donation drive was
launched Friday, September 3
– the
same day that the Beslan school
tragedy took place.
All personal donations will be
distributed in full to the families
of the children who were
injured in Beslan or whose parents
died as a result of this terror act.
In order to make this project a true public endeavor and to assure
complete transparency of its financial affairs, the Foundation is formed with these
unique self-governing features:
-
All activities of the
Foundation are managed by the Board of
Trustees,
the members of which are selected among those who
provide the
Foundation with maximum assistance in its activities. Through
the Trustees, the opinions of all donors are adequately
represented in
all decisions. We provide
personal contact information for each
Trustee and each potential donor can call or write
any Trustee
before making the donation.
-
All incoming payments are reflected on
the Foundation's web site
within 1-2 days, including the names of all donors. This allows
all donors to
promptly
verify that their donations have been
recorded. Names of
donors who wish to remain anonymous
are masked.
-
A complete
accounting of all disbursements will
also be provided in the
same manner. This will assure donors that their donations are
delivered to the
intended recipients. Donors will be able to contact the
recipients to verify
receipt of funds.
-
The Foundation incurs
no administrative or other expenses
related to
personal donations, except for nominal processor's fees to accept
credit card
payments. All money donated by individuals will be delivered
directly to
victims’ families.
Information about the Foundation is distributed through
US and Canadian mass-media, major US
and Russian
web sites, Russian-language
periodicals, by direct e-mail and
through posters
by activists.
